I'm in LOVE!

Ok so I know I've been raving about this new line of fabric and I even gave one away but it wasn't till last night when I cracked one open and realised how truly gorgeous it is.  What I mean is, most of the time when I get a charm pack or jellyroll there is always a piece or two that, well to be honest I leave out because I don't like it but this range of fabric is stunning. I can't choose a fav. Every time I think I love one I find one I love that little bit more. And I'm not even through the whole pack. I don't want to sell anymore because I want them all too myself.

And after seeing this video that Bek from Dreamfctry so kindly shared I was determined to try it and believe me it made pinwheels soooo fast.

I'm just so smitten I tell ya! :)

Doll Quilt Received

Doll Quilt by The Quilted Tortoise
A picture is really worth a thousand words. I mean look at this amazing mini quilt. I literally jumped for joy when I opened the parcel and this was inside. Little Miss was so excited she joined in too. All that hand applique is just amazing. I've never attempted anything like this which is why it just blows me away. Since the beginning of the DUDQS I've been keeping a close eye on all the photos of this quilt in hopes that it was mine and my wishes came true! :)

Some of these pieces are about the size of the tip if my finger. They really are mini!

With a bonus adorable pin cushion (if pin cushions can be adorable) and this pretty card which I will treasure, this couldn't have been more of a perfect swap. Kate you did an amazing job pairing us up! THANK YOU!!
You can check out some more of the DUDQS at the Flickr group.
I'll be googly eyed at this beauty for the rest of the day.... maybe longer.

A lazy one

This week I've been running around like a headless chook. Every day so far I've been out and I feel like I haven't really gotten anything done. Have you had that kind of a week? So this afternoon I'm indulging in a little afternoon tea.

I've got my magazine, (which came in the mail 2 weeks ago and this is the first read through) my new T2 tea cup and an oh so yummy white choc and cranberry cookie. And although Toy Story is playing on the TV I'm still taking a break from it all. Well for as long as little miss will let me.
Hope you enjoy this gorgeous afternoon, no matter what it is your doing. :)

Dresden Love

I know this is a favourite for many at the moment and I am no exception. I've seen a few dresden plates in the blogeshere and this is the beginning of mine.

I've started a this quilt using City Weekend by Oliver +s for Moda. The colours are gorgeous, although not usually what I go for. I'm going for a pop art sort of quilt, 4 dresdens in different colour groups, since this range is so varied in colours.

And on the plus side this package went out today. A cute little pouch and a little bit of eye candy for my talented partner. Hope she likes.

I'll keep you posted.
Also don't forget my give away. There is only 3 days left to be in the draw. Head over here, comment and your in!

Just a quick Memo!

Hello and good morning. :)

If you didn't know, Blogger has been down for the last couple of days. I know some have lost entire posts so this morning I've just been flicking through my little blog to check if anything was missing. Thankfully all my posts are still here. But I have noticed some comments have dissapeared. If you have entered the give away please check if your comment is still there... and if you haven't... why not?? :P
Just head over HERE and check your comment or even make a comment. It's all good.
Because of loosing a couple of days. I'll be drawing a winner on Tuesday night.

What are you up to this beautiful Saturday? We're heading into the city and making a day of it. Grandparents, Cousins, Aunty and the kitchen sink. Catching the train and everything. (It's been a while since I've caught a train to go anywhere) I know the kids will enjoy it. Hope you enjoy yours!

Doll Quilt Finale.

Just wanted to show you my finished doll quilt. Finally after about 2 months it's done.

And the back...

I've edited my partners name off as it's still a surprise.
To my horror though I found out that my daughter got a little pen happy on it and now I'm frantically trying to blot it out. If your reading this partner I am SOOOOOO sorry.
All in all though I'm pretty happy with the result. Just gotta make a little purse to match which doubles as an extra pressie.

Oh and don't forget my giveaway here. Just comment and your in the draw for the latest from Moda charm packs. Summer House by Lily Ashbury. Be sure to have a look!

My latest find.

One of my FAVOURITE things to do is buy antique or second hand furniture and re-vamp it. I have a few projects sitting in my garage to finish and I've added to it with a couple more. The latest being a "Big Girl Bed" for my little miss. And here is the best part.... 99c win on eBay. (now you understand why I'm an eBay junkie) So it's not very pretty at the moment.

Something like this but not so ornate, and in a more honey timber colour. But this is what I'm envisioning...

BKK Home

Home and Garden
Lots of white bedding with a little...

P.S. I Quilt

A Quilting Life

and definitely a lettered Cushion!!

I'll keep you posted!!!
