Peter Rabbit

Isn't he so cute. I have to admit I never read any Beatrix Potter but I think this little guy and all the characters are adorable. This fabric is the inspiration for the colour way I'm going with for this quilt (hope you like it L). I was asked to make a boys Peter Rabbit themed quilt and this fabric was what I could get my hands on. I know there are others out there. Even here in Aus Spotlight just stocked a whole heap of licensed fabrics but in store the Peter Rabbit stuff just seem a little too cheap for my liking. Not to offend any one, I just mean the colours aren't intense and they detail was lacking, they just didn't grab my attention.

I pulled these colours from the main fabric and some coordinating print. The bottom 2 are from Denyse Schmidt's Daisy Mae and the brown polka dot is just a blender from my local fabric store.

I'm just playing around with the placement now. I was thinking of doing something like this quilt but after laying it out, it seamed too simple because of the solids. Any suggestions??

  1. The one you showed would be really pretty, but I would only use two of the solid colors. Or, you could use the Peter Rabbit squares and frame them with different solids, and use the brown to separate the framed squares. What do you think? Whatever you decide will be awesome!
