Another quilt finished... probably the last for 2012 since the new year is creeping up super fast.

This quilt was a gift for a close friend. Not too long ago she offered me a ticket to see Cold Play in concert in exchange for a quilt. Very generous offer in my books. So last Saturday I got around to giving it to her.

Oh boy this quilt was a doozy! I was so excited to start but I have to admit when I realised there were 165 blocks to make my head got a little dizzy. But you know what I think the final quilt paid off!
The blue and white was at her request, and doesn't it look striking. The pattern itself is really quite simple but not something I'd attempt in a rush. Rather one of those in between projects.
The pattern is from the book Layer Cakes, Jelly Rolls and Charm Packs

And I really love how the scrappy navy blues really come together. I might make this again in all different scraps. Or red and white.... oooo red and white might be it!!! ;)
Thanks for dropping in!

  1. The blue and white is striking! (I have that book too!) I think a red and white version would be fabulous!

  2. Hi Lydia, I just found your lovely blog. This quilt is amazing. I love the blue and white together. I think a red and whilte will be so beautiful.
    I'm a new follower.

  3. Your blue and white quilt is stunning, and a red and white one would be also. My friend has that book so I think I might have to borrow it ;-)
